It is getting HOT!!

It is getting so hot!!

So last week when it was cold I was complaining and now it is hot!!! Yup don't complain!! I don't have time this week!! I had computer Problems. So sorry!! But I knocked on doors!! I was told that wasn't going to happen... Yup I did!! And had success!! It is great to be a missionary!!

Cabo Verde say what?!?!

I am in Cabo Verde!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place is so hard to describe!! Oh and please excuse my spelling and punctuation the keyboards are a little different then in America. My first Area is........ Achada Santo Antonio Praia!!!!!!!!!! My trainer is Sister Gates!! She is really nice and sweet!! She has been out 14 months and goes home in July. 

It is crazy!! I am really here!! 

Funny things that have happened. Kissing on the checks. Yup that is a real thing here!! First time was so awkward!! I had no idea what to do!! My comp laughed at me. Now it is just a normal hello and goodbye. Then people stared at me and I asked my comp why they were staring. She started laughing.... I am a white person. I stand out a ton. I forget my skin color is different until I see my hands and I am like ooohhhh yeah.... haha!! I just feel like one of the Cabo Verdians. I stand out a TON!!!! 

My area since I barely talked about it... So it is a brand new area and we are both new to the area that is called White Washing. So we have had a lot of work to do!! The area use to be one huge area that the assistants to the President (AP) had but they split it since there is a ton of work here to do. So that is fun!! I am also very blessed this transfer. I have hot water, AC, tons of stores, with tons of american items, members that want to work with us and very accepting people. I love it here!! I am also really surprise and most likely will change my mind later but it is the perfect temp here!! It gets cold at night and it isn't very humid. I am really surprised!!! When I landed I was freezing and the Mission prez said it is never like that!! I am very blessed!! This is real!! So crazy!!! More next week!! 

Also they only speak creole not Portuguese. So I have no idea what people are saying. That is a lot of fun!! I pretend I know then they pause and look at me like and?? Then I laugh and say I don't understand then they tell me again. Yup still don't understand. hahaha Lots of laughs!!!

Saying Goodbye

Welp!! This is it!! Said our last goodbyes today and we are off!!! I am so scared and excited!!! Not a ton of time to write!! Just know I loved my time in the MTC!! I made lasting friendships and cannot wait to get to Africa!!

Africa!?!

OI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This time next week I will be on a plane!!!!!!!!! I leave March 17 and arrive in Cabo Verde March 18!!!!!!!!!!! Super long plan ride!!!!!!!!!! I am really excited!!!!!!! Can't tell huh? Can you believe it has been 6 weeks!?! I can't!!!

This past week I was able to be a traffic host!! That was super fun!! We all dressed up as minions so we wouldn't get ran over!!! (See pic for more details)

Then who's bright idea was it to have daylight savings?!?! Seriously!!!! As a missionary you barely get any sleep oh but hey let us also lose and hour!!! let me just tell you that was a really LONG Sunday!!!!!!!!! Good thing I have like 10 plus hours on a plane to sleep!!

I was teaching a lesson Saturday to our 'Investigator' (aka our teacher) and in the lesson I said, "Voce quer estar mais preto que Deus" (do you want to be blacker then God?) What I meant to say was, "Voce quer estar mais perto que Deus" ( Do you want to be closer to God?) My teacher thought it was so funny he told then entire class but didn't name names. I was like yup that was me!!! No worries my "investigator" said yes he does want to get closer to God.

This morning I went to my last temple session for 17 months. What a sad thought!! So why not share a Temple selfie of my companion and me? We both will miss the temple!!!

Portuguese is coming along and by next week I will be in Cabo Verde!!! I am in shock!!! But really happy to get to the field!!!! Other then that my week was pretty much the same... Study study study!!!

Snow?!

Oi!!!!!!!!!!!

First off I just want to say it snowed.... UGH!!! That means it is super cold here!!!!!!!!!!! This morning my companion and I went to the temple and as we walked out it was snowing. I am wearing super light weight clothing and my companions jacket. It was super cold! But very pretty to see. 

This past week has been the same with a few exceptions. One exceptions is our service. I do service projects twice a week here. Usually it is clean toilets, sinks, take out trash. You know normal things to clean were you are living. Well this week was super special. My companion and I vacuumed WALLS. Yup you read that right. We vacuumed the walls. Who does that? Really?! We vacuumed the walls for 75 minutes!! In that 75 minutes one of the breakers blow out so we lost power in a hall. opps. Then the extension cord prong got stuck in the outlet. opps. Super funny!!

One of the perks of being here 6 weeks is hosting. This past week my district got to host. I helped 2 new girls find there classrooms, bedrooms, and get their books. The cool part was I got to host a girl going to Brazil who is in my district. Tomorrow we get to host again but this time we get to direct traffic. We are a Traffic Host!! How cool is that?! 

Then my companion!! I love her! Every time I cry she tells me how beautiful my alligator tears are. She says I can convert the entire world with my alligator tears. It is great!! Surprisingly I don't cry as much as I thought I was going too. Blessings!!
